Eight pressure zonesThe city system runs eight pressure zones across 37.8 square miles, so water pressure varies a lot by neighborhood. Pressure that’s too high quietly wears out faucets, toilet valves and water heaters.

Shut off the water at your main shut-off valve right away, then turn off your water heater (the power for electric, or set a gas unit to “pilot” or “off”). Then call us at 360-829-7440. It’s a good idea to find your main shut-off before you ever need it.

How do I keep my pipes from freezing in an Enumclaw winter?

Disconnect garden hoses and cover outdoor faucets, insulate pipes in crawlspaces and garages, keep crawlspace vents closed during hard freezes, and let a faucet on an outside wall drip on the coldest nights. If a pipe does freeze, don’t use an open flame to thaw it. Call a plumber.
